About the Event

Geosynthetics have been used in geotechnical and geoenvironmental applications for several decades and are becoming ever more common in various engineering applications. With the increased use of geosynthetics, there has also been a rise in the number of reported issues of subpar performance. In almost all cases, the performance issues related to the geosynthetics have been predominantly attributed to failure in the selection of appropriate material, inadequate design considerations, lack of understanding of the limitation of geosynthetics, and/or poor construction QA/QC.

Most engineering professionals do not work with geosynthetics on a regular basis, which makes it difficult for them to stay up to date with the advancement in polymer science and geosynthetics. This may sometimes put individuals in a challenging position in selecting proper material for their next design/construction projects. It is particularly challenging for both young and experienced professionals that have not been introduced to geosynthetics during their formal/informal education or training, and/or lack recent experience with it.

This webinar is aimed to fill some of those gaps and provide insights from the Layfield Group professionals that are continuously involved in Research and development, design support, manufacture, supply, construct, and service with geosynthetics.

Layfield shows its presence in Canada, USA, South America, Asia, and Australia.
