The Professional Governance Act came into force in February 2021, and, with the implementation of the new Act, Engineers and Geoscientists BC now has the legislative authority to regulate engineering and geoscience firms in British Columbia.

As local governments are included in this regulation, this session will address the Regulation of Firms and Permit to Practice requirements from a local government lens. The webinar will address the common questions and concerns coming from local governments in advance of the start of the Permit to Practice Program beginning in July 2021. Speakers from local governments will also share their experience in preparing for the start of the program, including tips and lessons learned, to ensure all local governments are ready for the program start date.
