About the Event

Topic 1: With 3 years of experience at the City of Delta, Harvy will present an overview of some of the types of challenges and infrastructure he works with. The task of flood protection for the lowlands of Delta come with unique coastal and fluvial challenges. Providing utilities infrastructure across a large land mass for the 3 main communities of Delta includes water, wastewater, and drainage services comes with unique challenges itself.

Topic 2: How COVID-19 impacted traffic and parking in the City of Delta.

Topic 3: Emergency Works – Shaw Creek Culvert project:  A lock block retaining wall failure on Shaw Creek prompted urgent action to be taken by the City of Delta. In order to prevent damage to private property and risk to local residents, a 2.4 meter by 2.1 meter culvert was installed. This presentation will share the challenges encountered during this project; including project management, constructability, and environmental factors.
