BCIT’s Electrical and Computer Engineering department is offering the following 5-day (full-time) courses throughout the month of June 2019. Please click the links below for more information or to enroll.
- ELEX 0441 - Electrical Power Systems Hands-On Workshop - (June 10-14) – Ali Palizban
A one-week laboratory-oriented course that will provide students with both a detailed theoretical understanding as well as the skills for design, operation, and control of modern power systems.
- ELEX 0461 – Grounding and Bonding Hands-On Workshop – (June 3-7) – Nurul Islam
Application of theory and industry standard software, combined with modern test equipment to give attendees the hands-on experience necessary for design, operation, measurement (field-testing), and management of grounding systems for electrical facilities.
- ELEX 0265 - Process Control Fundamentals – (June 3-7) – Gurminder Grewal
Application of process control theory without the requirement for an advanced mathematical background, allowing students to develop an understanding of process dynamics and control strategies sufficient to select and tune such strategies for various processes. Two-position and PID control as well as some advanced control strategies will be covered.
- ELEX 0270 - Process Measurement Fundamentals – (June 17-21) – Gurminder Grewal
An orientation course for individuals who work in the process control industry without an instrumentation or measurement background. Principles will be covered to provide familiarity with terminology, symbology, measurement theory and instrument selection necessary to communicate with specialist engineers and technologists.
