Sustainability Award Nomination Procedures

Nominations for the 2018 Sustainability Award are now open.
Deadline: March 16, 2018.

The Sustainability Award was created to recognize the important contribution that engineering and geoscience make to the well being of human life and the ecosystem. It further seeks to recognize the positive role of human qualities such as ethics, imagination, reason and common sense in achieving this end.

The award is open to any project that has demonstrated a commitment to, and understanding of, the concept of sustainability and/or has applied one or more of the Sustainability Guidelines. Nominations must demonstrate the significant involvement in the project by members of Engineers and Geoscientists British Columbia as key contributors.

Prior to making a nomination, please review the Sustainability Awards Terms of Reference.

Nomination Packages

Nominations should consist of a written description, not to exceed 10 pages, that clearly describes the project, the application of the Sustainability Guidelines and the involvement of BC professional engineers and/or professional geoscientists. As sustainability is as much about a thought process as it is about physical results, nominations that describe “the story” of a project development or organization are encouraged. Supporting material such as photos, illustrations and/or other documentation may be submitted and should not exceed 5 pages. The award submission should not exceed 15 pages in total.
