For the first time in its 100-year history, Engineers and Geoscientists BC will host its Annual General Meeting (AGM) virtually, allowing registrants to participate from anywhere in the world. The AGM provides an opportunity for registrants to hear from Council and senior staff on the organization’s strategic progress, key initiatives, and financial standing.
The AGM is scheduled for October 17, 2020, from 8:30 AM–12:00 PM. Registration for the AGM is open until 5 PM on October 12, 2020. Engineers and Geoscientists BC’s AGMs are open to the public; however, only registrants in good standing can make or second motions, submit comments on motions, and vote.
While this virtual approach to the AGM requires some unique rules and protocols, as outlined in Annual General Meeting Rules, we have worked hard to ensure we can support meaningful engagement with registrants in this virtual format. In particular, registrants will have the opportunity to submit motions in advance of the AGM for Council’s consideration. All motions must be received no later than 5 PM on September 18, 2020 to allow adequate time for review and inclusion in the virtual meeting.
Advance copies of the CEO and Registrar’s Report, President’s Report, and the Government Appointee’s Report from the 2019/2020 Annual Report, are now available for registrants who plan to submit motions under this revised procedure.
