Fraudulent Email Targets Potential Applicants

Posted on August 4, 2020

We have recently learned about a scam targeting potential applicants to Engineers and Geoscientists BC, in which individuals are emailed by purported engineering firms, and offered a lucrative job and an expedited membership or licence in exchange for money. The link in the fraudulent email leads to a website that collects personal information. This website does not belong to Engineers and Geoscientists BC.

We want to ensure that prospective and current applicants and engineering and geoscience firms are aware of this scam and that all applications for membership or licence with Engineers and Geoscientists BC must be made directly through our online system.

Engineers and Geoscientists BC does not solicit personal information or ask for payment through third-party organizations, consultants, or other entities.

If you have received one of these emails, or you are unsure about an email or telephone call related to registration or licence with Engineers and Geoscientists BC, please contact us at [email protected].
