4 Seasons of Reconciliation – Indigenous Awareness Learning


4 Seasons of Reconciliation – Indigenous Awareness Learning is a self-paced online course that promotes a renewed relationship between Indigenous Peoples and Canadians through transformative learning about truth and reconciliation.

Each short module can be completed at the learner’s pace and provides a mix of learning tools such as slideshows, videos, films, and quizzes. A bonus video library for ongoing learning is provided at the end of the course.

Learners will be provided foundational knowledge on the history and culture of Indigenous communities in Canada, the history of residential schools, and treaties around the country.

The course modules include:

  • Colonial Lens 
  • Pre-contact 
  • Treaties 
  • Residential schools 
  • United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP) 
  • Indigenous relations 
  • Reconciliation 
  • Restitution 

The course aims to provide the foundational awareness and learning of truth and reconciliation for engineers and geoscientists.

The course is approximately 2.5 hours plus access to a bonus video library.

Registrants can gain 2.5 hours of continuing education (CE) hours of ethical learning.

Proceeds of the course fee are donated to First Nations University of Canada students from across the country.
