Project Highlights Submission Form

Starting January 2, 2024, registrants are invited to enter their submissions for our annual Innovation Project Highlights edition. Successful projects will be published in our Summer 2024 edition. See last year's edition: 2023 Project Highlights Edition.

To submit a project, please complete the form below. The online form must be submitted by 5 PM on March 1, 2024.

If you have questions, please contact [email protected].

How to Submit Your Project

Here is a guide on how to fill out the submission form below.

Project Name and Description (Maximum 140 Words)

Please provide a succinct project name and description and ensure your submission is accurate. This is not the place to promote your business; it is an opportunity to share significant projects with your peers.

The description should include:

  • A basic overview
  • How the project demonstrates public safety or environmental stewardship
  • Innovative aspects of the project

The maximum length is 140 words. The word count has been reduced from previous years because participant names are no longer included in the word count. Please adhere to this requirement to allow all projects equal representation.

Submissions may be edited for clarity and accuracy. Submissions over the word limit will be cut at our discretion. We have a large volume of submissions and are not able to provide time for a re-do, so please remove the excess before you submit.

Project descriptions may have technical content, but keep in mind that Innovation readers are diverse and work in a broad range of industries and disciplines.

Responsible Professional

This should be the project lead or responsible registrant for the project.

List of Participants with Designations

List only key participants and their designations. At least one participant must be an Engineers and Geoscientists BC registrant. All registrants must be in good standing and still practising. We verify all names, so please include the correct registered name and indicate if a registrant uses a name that is different from what we have on record. Include professional designations with names and any other relevant designations.

Photos

All submissions must include a high-resolution photo. Choose your best. We recognize sometimes a project isn't well illustrated with only one photo, so you are welcome to submit up to three photos; however, due to space limitations, we may only be able to use one.

Photos must be:

  • at least 300 ppi
  • minimum of 2 MB, preferably larger (approx. 3,000 X 2,500 pixels or more)
  • in tif or jpg format

Please note:

  • We may crop or enhance photos at our discretion.
  • Collages or composites can not be used.
  • Privacy rights must be observed. If there are people who can be identified in the photo, please ensure you have written permissions to publish their image and can supply the permissions on request.

You must include the photo credit and have copyright permission to use the photo. If the photo is taken by a professional photographer, please ensure you have the correct credit and permission (ie Joe Photoman/ Best Images). If the photo has been submitted or taken by someone on the project, you can include their name or the company; if you don’t want to use the name, please just indicate it is a submitted photo (ie photo submitted or photo submitted by ABC Company).
