In a September 26, 2024, Consent Order, Jerry Raymond Lay admitted he demonstrated conduct unbecoming a registrant by conducting a geotechnical field review while suspended. Mr. Lay’s registration with Engineers and Geoscientists BC is cancelled.

At the Engineers and Geoscientists BC’s Board’s inaugural meeting for the 2024/25 term, October 17, the Board elected Mark Porter, P.Eng., Struct.Eng., as the new Chair.

After three years of gathering voluntarily submitted demographic data, Engineers and Geoscientists BC is now sharing the detailed results in its Registrant Demographic Report. The report includes data and analysis of registrant identity, allowing the organization to better understand the diversity of its registrant base.

Engineers and Geoscientists BC registrants elected two new Board members and re-elected a current Board member in the 2024/25 Board election.

In an August 14, 2024, Consent Order, Dr. Seyed-Ahmad Pishvaei, P.Eng., admitted that he demonstrated unprofessional conduct in relation to the engineering services he provided. As of September 3, 2024, Dr. Pishvaei’s registration with Engineers and Geoscientists BC is suspended for a period of four months.

In a July 25, 2024, Consent Order, Edward Nunn admitted that he demonstrated unprofessional conduct in relation to the engineering services he provided for the design and installation of several sewerage systems in the Kootenays. Mr. Nunn’s registration with Engineers and Geoscientists BC is cancelled.
