Based in Vancouver, the Restoration Lead is responsible for overseeing small-to-large-scale projects while maintaining a high level of service for the Restoration practice at Entuitive. This entails leveraging technical expertise and working closely with the other service groups in the firm to ensure consistent, consolidated, and leading-edge service delivery.

ENTUITIVE would like to supplement its existing Vancouver team with a self-motivated individual, with leadership skills and a desire to work in a collaborative team environment. Entuitive’s current projects span the repair and restoration of existing buildings and the design and construction of new buildings. Our project portfolio is diverse and exciting—from commercial and residential skyscrapers to hospitals to opera houses to transit infrastructure—across Canada, the United States, and internationally. We are passionate about our work and strive to provide our clients with the utmost in service when it comes to quality and timeliness of our product.

At this time we are looking for an individual interested in advancing their career by joining our local Vancouver team at its beginnings, but supported by a well-established and entrepreneurial company with offices across Canada, and in the United Stated and United Kingdom.

Role

  • Work closely with Entuitive’s existing Building Envelope and Restoration leadership team in growing Entuitive’s presence in the North American market, specifically in the British Columbia region.
  • Oversight and execution of projects within the realm of building envelope and structural restoration consulting such as:
    • Lead site investigation teams, and condition assessments of existing buildings and accurately identify the cause of deterioration and specify restoration techniques.
    • Generate restoration details and specifications for repair and replacement work in existing buildings.
    • Write and administer construction contracts in the role of the prime consultant in contract administration and construction.

Project Management

  • Manage projects from investigation to final completion;
  • Deliver projects ensuring profitably with a high-quality of deliverables;
  • Deal with commercial issues related to project management including fee negotiation, consulting contracts, invoicing, and collections; and
  • Create and monitor project budgets related to the investigation, design, and construction of restoration projects.

Leadership

  • Support the communication of Entuitive's vision to clients, employees, and other stakeholders.
  • Supervise several professional and non-professional staff on several projects simultaneously.
  • Provide feedback and manages employee performance to ensure development of team members and meet department objectives.
  • Check the work of all design staff for office procedure compliance and code compliance as well as provide senior level technical support.
  • Supports in the training and mentoring of staff.
  • Identify and participate in the recruitment of key staff that supports the success of Entuitive’s overall business plan.
  • Assist with the development of such templates, standards of practice and information sharing systems that will improve efficiency and the level of knowledge within the group.

Winning Work and Management

  • Actively leverage existing client relationships, and develop new client relationships, to grow the building envelope and restoration project portfolio.
  • Actively coordinate with other individuals and groups in Entuitive for marketing and business development efforts, cross selling between disciplines, work-sharing, sharing of expertise, development of technical standards, etc.
  • Work with clients to assess and analyze client needs and estimate fees, write formal proposals and/or fee letters to conduct the restoration and building envelope work.
  • Develop and foster client relationship resulting in repeat business and an expanded network.

Advancing Entuitive

  • Act as a subject matter expert in building envelope and restoration solutions including technologies, methods, and practices by keeping abreast of trends and market shifts in order to recommend and implement best practices.
  • Keeps abreast of the latest literature and information.
  • Write papers and articles for publish in applicable publications.
  • Participate in industry related committees, events, programs, and presentations at conferences in order to increase Entuitive’s profile within the industry. Prepare and execute presentations at applicable events and trade shows.
  • Participate in internal committees and initiatives where you have particular expertise, experience, and/or interest to assist in the firm’s growth and progress.
  • Establish and maintain good working relationships and collaborative arrangements within the architectural/engineering/construction community and other organizations to help achieve the goals of Entuitive.

What do You Need to Succeed?

  • A bachelor’s degree in engineering, or equivalent relevant program of study.
  • Minimum 8–10 years of progressive experience in restoration consulting, with a minimum of 4 years in Vancouver (and surrounding cities).
  • P.Eng. or equivalent qualifications/experience for the role.
  • Must have a working knowledge and ability to use programs such as Microsoft Word and Excel and Bluebeam (or another PDF mark-up tool).
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written with the ability to manage complex situations with multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong background in the field of restoration including current and leading-edge knowledge of materials and processes.
  • Strong leadership and project management skills with ability to manage scope, schedule and budget.
  • Must be willing to work at heights, including climbing ladders and working on swing stage.
  • Established relationships with a variety of building owners and property managers, developers, architects, builders, and government bodies considered an asset.
  • Must have a valid driver’s licence and access to a vehicle.
  • Access to a passport and desire to travel for work is an asset
