About the Event

Geosynthetics have been used in geotechnical and geoenvironmental applications for several decades and are becoming ever more common in modern engineered infrastructures. With the increased use of geosynthetics, there has also been a rise in reported subpar performance issues. In almost all cases, the performance issues related to geosynthetics have been predominantly attributed to a failure in the selection of appropriate material, inadequate design considerations, lack of understanding of the limitation of geosynthetics, and poor construction QA/QC. This session is aimed to fill some of those gaps and provide insights from the Layfield Group technical professionals that are continuously involved in research and development, design support, manufacture, supply, construction, and service with geosynthetics.
