Join the Sea to Sky Branch on a 3-part presentation by Scovan, Svante, and Canadian government representatives on the insights into the outlook for renewable energy projects and technologies in Western Canada.

About the Event


This 3-part presentation will provide insights into the outlook for renewable energy projects and technologies in Western Canada, expanding on economic, regulatory, and natural forces at work stimulating investment into renewables. Scovan will provide an overview of Canadian market incentives bringing more CCUS, RNG, geothermal, and critical minerals projects into viability, complete with project examples. Svante will delve into the market forces spurring investment and progress in renewable energy technology. This will be followed by a special address from the Canadian government with a focus on the aspects of Budget 2023 that will benefit the renewables sector.

Presenter

Brent Lyon, P.Eng.

As Scovan’s Director of Business Development, Brent utilizes a combination of commercial and technical skills to deliver successful renewable energy projects. These efforts can take the form of optimizing project parameters to improve viability, assisting in project financing, taking on the role of project manager, and more. Brent received his Bachelor of Applied Science, Chemical Engineering, from the University of British Columbia.

Linal Perera, P.Eng., MBA

As a Business Development Engineer, Linal is instrumental in developing carbon capture projects and creating a strategy to ensure the highest rate of success for construction and operation. This drive is further strengthened by his MBA background. Linal received his Bachelor of Applied Science, Chemical Engineering, from the University of Waterloo and his MBA from Rice Jones Graduate School of Business.
