About the Event

For many, the history of Pride isn’t well known, concepts related to gender and sexual diversity may feel overwhelming, and it’s not clear how this all applies to the workplace. This session will unpack the 2SLGBTQIA+ acronym to introduce key terms and concepts and provide insights into the unique and often invisible challenges faced by 2SLGBTQIA + people in society and at work. The session concludes with how to respectfully interact with 2SLGBTQIA + people, including ways to avoid assumptions (especially related to pronouns and partners), how to obtain pronouns, and how to recover from mistakes.

This Webinar Will Explore:

  • The origin and importance of Pride;
  • The acronym 2SLGBTQIA+ and what terms are related to which concepts;
  • Common challenges that 2SLGBTQIA+ people face in society and at work; and
  • Practical methods for how to navigate everyday interactions so they are more inclusive and respectful
