2016/2017 Project Highlights: Call for Submissions

New Schedule; New Deadline

Innovation magazine invites members to submit project photos for the 2016/2017 Project Highlights showcase, to be published in May/June 2017. This annual pictorial features the diverse activities of BC’s professional engineers and geoscientists at home and abroad. (View the 2015/2016 Project Highlights.)

Members, licensees, and companies are invited to submit photographs of engineering or geoscience projects undertaken during 2016 and early 2017, within or outside BC, employing APEGBC members or licensees. Photographs must be high-resolution digital image files, and must be accompanied by project descriptions of no more than 150 words, identifying the owners and professional or licensed members involved. Members are strongly encouraged to describe the innovative or sustainability aspects of their particular project.

The deadline to submit project photos for publication is January 20, 2017. Late submissions will not be considered.

Before submitting your project for consideration, view the submission requirements, including specifications for digital images.

In selecting project submissions for the pictorial, the APEGBC Editorial Board considers the following selection criteria:
  • Projects that reflect the diversity of the work performed by members;
  • Representation from a wide variety of employers of APEGBC members;
  • Sustainability and innovative features of the project; and
  • Quality and visual appeal of the image, whether the image directly reflects the engineering or geoscience contributions described in the accompanying caption, and whether the image includes human interest.

Find more information at apeg.bc.ca/pictorial.

Due to space limitations, Innovation is unable to accommodate all submissions. We encourage members working for large companies to coordinate their project submissions—only one submission per company will be selected, except when space permits.

Direct all submissions to Innovation by email at [email protected] or by mail to Innovation Project Highlights, c/o #200 - 4010 Regent St., Burnaby, BC  V5C 6N2.

Important note: By submitting material to Innovation, you grant to APEGBC a royalty-free, worldwide licence to publish the material, and you warrant that you have the authority to grant such rights and have obtained waivers of all associated moral rights. Innovation reserves the right to edit the material for length, clarity and conformity with our editorial guidelines and is under no obligation to publish any or all submissions or any portion thereof, including credits.
