Annual Conference and AGM Early Pricing Ends Soon

Registration for Engineers and Geoscientists BC’s Annual Conference and Annual General Meeting (AGM) is now open—and conference delegates have until Thursday, September 12 to take advantage of special early pricing. The conference and AGM will take place in Kelowna, BC, from Thursday, October 17 to Saturday, October 19, 2019 at the Delta Grand Okanagan Resort.

The Thursday, October 17 keynote lunch will feature Gregor Jeffrey, an expert on the neuroscience of communications. Jeffrey believes that the key to connecting and influencing others can be found in science, and he thinks that there is an incredibly simple way to truly engage our audience every time we speak.

The keynote lunch on Friday, October 17 will feature George Kourounis, award-winning explorer, storm chaser, television host, and Explorer-in-Residence with The Royal Canadian Geographical Society. To Kourounis, understanding why we are afraid to do something, and by analyzing the possible outcomes of our decisions and embracing curiosity, is the key to accomplishing anything worthwhile.

Along with the keynote speakers, attendees can choose from 10 topical professional development streams, including Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy, Municipal Engineering, Regulatory Affairs, and Structural Engineering.

The conference also features social events and networking opportunities, industry exhibitors, the President's Awards Gala, and the Centennial Reception—a kick-off celebration of our 100th anniversary in 2020.

Delegates can select one-, two-, and three-day packages, or individual events on an à-la-carte basis. The event wraps up with Engineers and Geoscientists BC's Annual General Meeting on Saturday, October 19, 2019, at 8:30 AM.

More information about the conference, including information on registration, exhibitors, the conference agenda, accommodations, and the AGM, is provided at egbc.ca/conference.
