Drawing Contest Closes National Engineering and Geoscience Month

Posted on April 3, 2019

Engineers and Geoscientists BC and its branches across the province wrapped up another National Engineering and Geoscience Month (NEGM) on March 31. The month was full of fun community events that focused on students of all ages who may be considering careers in engineering or geoscience. Events included popsicle-stick bridge-building contest, Science Games, DIG Day! at Britannia Mine Museum, and a drawing contest for kids of ages 4 through 12.

The activities attracted extensive media coverage, including Global TV morning show interviews with association President Kathy Tarnai-Lokhorst and EIT Christina Noël, a second interview with Christina on Kamloops-based CHNL Radio, Fairchild TV branch event coverage, and a Science Games story in the Vancouver Sun.

The association also launched the “Did You Know” advertising campaign that promoted engineering and geoscience professions to families.
