Prevention strategies surrounding COVID-19 have closed offices throughout the province, and pressed a number of professionals into remote-work arrangements. Engineers and Geoscientists BC’s efforts to support continuing professional development for registrants has included developing a series of complimentary webinars designed for remote attendance.
Two of those webinars aim to help leaders of remote teams integrate equity, diversity, and inclusion principles into remote work situations. The two-part complimentary webinar series, planned for May 20 and May 27, is in partnership with the Association of Consulting Engineering Companies of BC (ACEC-BC).
This series will build on ACEC-BC’s Effective Leadership: Equity, Diversity and Inclusiveness in a Time of Crisis series, and will discuss strategies on how to support remote team members who have a range of backgrounds, contexts, and circumstances from which they work.
The two 1-hour, lunchtime webinars include:
- Leading Remote Teams with Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Part 1: Communication and Structure, scheduled for Wednesday, May 20, 2020. For more information or to register, visit the event page; and
- Leading Remote Teams with Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Part 2: Ownership, Accountability, Productivity, and Connection, scheduled on Wednesday, May 27, 2020. For more information or to register, visit the event page.
While Engineers and Geoscientists BC has cancelled its Continuing Professional Development in-person seminars through the end of June, it is also offering a number of live webinars and online learning opportunities, business, management and communications sessions.
