March Is National Engineering and Geoscience Month!

Posted on 27 February 2018

National Engineering and Geoscience Month (NEGM) is a celebration that promotes awareness of the professions, highlights career choices in these fields, and reminds people of the many ways in which engineering and geoscience keep the public safe. Throughout March, we invite you and your family to participate in community events that teach kids about engineering and geoscience in a fun and educational way.

Please help us get the word out about the NEGM drawing contest. The contest challenges kids 4–12 years old to imagine they work in engineering or geoscience and to draw an invention that would keep their community or the world safe. The submission form can be downloaded from our website; the deadline is March 31, 2018.

There are lots of events happening around BC this month: visit the Britannia Mine Museum and learn about geoscience, take a tour of TRIUMF at UBC to see the world’s largest cyclotron particle accelerator, or take part in the fun activities our branches are hosting across the province.

Join us as we celebrate science, exploration, and discovery all month long! More information is at
