Two Registrant Motions Submitted for AGM
Posted on September 26, 2024
Two motions regarding the BC Society of Engineering and Geoscience (BCSEG) have been brought forward for the AGM.
The Engineers and Geoscientists BC Board will consider the registrant motions at its AGM at 2 PM on October 16. Registrants attending in person or online will be able to debate and vote on the motions.
Registration for the AGM is open until noon October 8.
The motions are:
- Motion 1: That the Board consider providing the new advocacy society, BC Society of Engineering and Geoscience, with suitable ongoing funding to support an effective transition period over the next 3 to 5 years.
- Motion 2: That the Board consider maintaining existing programs identified for termination/transition to BCSEG, with adequate resourcing, until such a time as BCSEG is financially positioned to take on the role of delivering these programs.
The Board recently approved an additional $500,000 in funding support for BCSEG until it begins accepting members in early 2025. For more information on the programs shifting to BCSEG and updates, please see the Advocacy Body page.
