Upcoming Webinar to Cover New Code Changes

Engineers and Geoscientists BC is hosting a 90-minute webinar to help members learn more about the changes introduced into the BC Building Code 2018, effective December 12, 2019. Two BC Building Code experts from Government of BC’s Building and Safety Standards Branch will deliver the webinar on March 2, 2020.

Don Pedde, Senior Code Administrator, and Jun'ichi Jensen, Team Lead, Codes and Standards, both from the Branch, will cover topics such as Encapsulated Mass Timber Construction, Carbon Monoxide, Roof-top Enclosures and Occupancies, the BC Energy Step Code, and more. These and other topics were part of the December 2019 Revision 2 of the BC Building Code. Mr. Pedde has 33 years of experience in the building industry including work as a Journeyman Carpenter, as an Architectural Technician, and as a Chief Building Official. Mr. Jensen has a background in construction project management, and has worked on a several significant code change projects since joining the Building and Safety Standards Branch in 2008.
