About the Event

For many, the history of Pride isn’t well known, concepts related to gender and sexual diversity may feel overwhelming, and it’s not clear how all this applies to the workplace. The presenter, Kai Scott, brings an open and friendly approach during this highly interactive and thought-provoking session. To begin, we will unpack the 2SLGBTQIA+ acronym to introduce key terms and concepts. Kai will also provide insights into the unique and often invisible challenges faced by 2SLGBTQIA + people in society and at work.

The session concludes with how to respectfully interact with 2SLGBTQIA + people, including ways to avoid assumptions (especially related to pronouns and partners), how to obtain pronouns, and how to recover from mistakes. There will be ample time at the end of the session for attendees’ specific and burning questions on the topic of gender and sexual diversity.

This Webinar Will Cover:

  • Better understanding of the origin and importance of Pride;
  • Greater awareness of the acronym 2SLGBTQIA+ and what terms are related to which concepts;
  • Greater awareness of the common challenges that 2SLGBTQIA+ people face in society and at work; and
  • Practical methods for how to navigate everyday interactions so they are more inclusive and respectful
