Dr. Brad J. Hayes, P.Geo., FGC

Brad Hayes is President of Petrel Robertson Consulting Ltd., a geoscience consulting firm addressing technical and strategic issues around helium and lithium exploration, oil and gas development, water resource management, geothermal energy, and carbon sequestration. He joined PRCL in 1996 after 15 years of exploration experience in operating oil and gas companies including Shell Canada and Canadian Hunter Exploration. He was recently Co-Chair of the Board of Directors of Imperial Helium Corp., a publicly-listed helium exploration company.
Dr. Hayes earned a PhD in Geology from the University of Alberta after completing a B.Sc. in Geology at the University of Toronto. He is Outreach Director for the Canadian Society for Evolving Energy (CSEE), and a Past-President of the Canadian Society of Petroleum Geologists (CSPG). He completed two three-year terms as Councillor for APEGA in 2013-2019, and is also registered as a P.Geo. with Engineers and Geoscientists British Columbia. He is a member of the Energy Resources Technical Advisory Committee for Geoscience BC.
Dr. Hayes is an Adjunct Professor in the University of Alberta Department of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences, and a sessional lecturer in Earth and Environmental Sciences at Mount Royal University. He has published and presented extensively on a variety of technical geoscience subjects in industry and regulatory conferences and media. Dr. Hayes is also a prominent media commentator, writing for a variety of technical and business publications as well as engaging actively on social media, focused on energy systems of the future.
