Engineers and Geoscientists BC

Educators

Engineers and Geoscientists BC has several resources available for educators to help encourage students to explore math and science. We want to inspire the next generation of engineers and geoscientists to pursue a career in engineering and geoscience.

Engineers and geoscientists use their technical expertise to protect the public. From providing seismic upgrades to schools, to finding minerals deep beneath the earth’s surface which make your smart phone work, engineers and geoscientists are at work all around you improving the world that you live in.

Lesson Plans

Engineers and Geoscientists BC has developed lesson plans to help educators engage students in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). These lesson plans have direct links to the BC curriculum and also highlight the role of engineers and geoscientists in everyday life.  Lesson plans are currently available for Grades 1, 2, 3, and 4 students.

Talking to Students about the Professions

We send volunteer engineers and geoscientists out to talk to students around the province. These presentations frequently include hands-on activities that relate to the engineering and geoscience professions. Are you interested in organizing a presentation for your class, Girl Guide Group, Scout Group or library event? Whether you have 10 or 100 students to engage, we can organize a presentation for your group. Engineers and Geoscientists BC can cater presentations to your needs.
