Reduction or Waiver of Annual Member Fees

Qualifying for Reduction or WAIVER of Annual Member Fees

If you are a member or licensee with an annual Active Income* of $31,000 or less, you are eligible for a reduced annual fee. Beginning in 2017, reduced fees may be requested for a maximum of two consecutive years.

Engineers and Geoscientists British Columbia members and licensees are also exempted from paying an annual fee if they have a medical condition that renders them unable to work.

If you are unable to pay the reduced annual fee and do not qualify for exemption from fees based on a medical condition, you can request a special one-time waiver of your annual fees for 2018.

* “Active Income” includes gross income from all employment or director’s fees and/or net income from self employment. It does not include pension or other retirement income, investment income, unemployment insurance income, support payments, scholarships, bursaries or disability income. All other sources of income are considered “active.”

To request a reduced fee, please complete the appropriate section on your membership renewal statement.

To request a one-time waiver of your 2018 annual fees, please complete the Application for Waiver of Annual Fees and email it to
