Event Description

In many areas in BC, logging occurs upslope of residential development. What are the hazards, how do they vary across the landscape, how is risk typically assessed, and how is it evaluated? Are there hazard and/or risk acceptability standards, and who establishes them? Is it the duty of the QP, the licensee, the local government or the potentially affected resident? This webinar will review the typical hazard and risk assessment procedures used in forest sector terrain stability assessments in light of expectations embodied in legislated landslide risk assessment for residential development. Several case studies will be used to illustrate the concepts.
