Event Description


The design of BC Hydro's Site C generating station, currently under construction, incorporates a lot of feedback from BC Hydro's maintenance and operations personnel.

About the Event


This virtual tour of the Site C generating station will provide a 3D walkthrough of the entire facility, with a focus on the feedback received and design changes made to the facility as a result. The means and process used by BC Hydro to seek and incorporate feedback in a cost effective manner will be discussed.

Richard Whittaker is a professional electrical engineer with BC Hydro where he started as an EIT providing engineering support for generator inspection; testing and repair work for generating facilities. Richard is part of the Site C Project, working with the design team and BC Hydro’s equipment suppliers and construction contractors to bring a maintenance and operations perspective to the design and now, construction, of the Project.
