The Annacis Island wastewater treatment plant treats about 175 billion litres of wastewater every year. Located in Delta at 1299 Derwent Way, the plant provides secondary treatment to wastewater for over 1 million residents in 14 municipalities.

Annacis Island wastewater treatment plant new outfall is currently under construction. This $184 million project includes a bored tunnel, two on-land shafts, and a marine diffuser in the Fraser River. This presentation will outline some of the construction challenges, and will also provide an overview of the cost estimating, quantitative risk analysis, and contingency planning that go into major infrastructure projects like this one.
