Discipline Notice: Amber Nadine Lecomte, P.Eng.
As of September 27, 2024, Ms. Lecomte’s registration with Engineers and Geoscientists BC is suspended for a period of three months
Ms. Lecomte was retained to provide engineering services in relation to an onsite wastewater sewerage system for a residence and additional structure in Naramata. The design Ms. Lecomte prepared for the project was deficient and failed to comply with the Sewerage System Standard Practice Manual, Version 3.
In the Consent Order, Ms. Lecomte admitted that she demonstrated unprofessional conduct related to the project and that she acted contrary to the Engineers and Geoscientists BC Bylaws and Code of Ethics. Ms. Lecomte agreed that, among other things, she failed to:
- provide adequate information for the design of the sewerage system;
- adequately conduct, or in the alternative, document field reviews;
- adequately supervise the construction and installation of the sewerage system; and
- create or maintain adequate project documentation about the design and construction of the sewerage system.
During the suspension period, Ms. Lecomte must successfully complete several educational courses, including two courses related to sewerage system design. Twelve months after the suspension period ends, Ms. Lecomte must undergo a practice review conducted by the Engineers and Geoscientists BC Audit and Practice Review Committee.
Ms. Lecomte paid $8,000 toward the legal and investigative costs of Engineers and Geoscientists BC.
