New Director Ramin Seifi Starts June 26

Engineers and Geoscientists BC is pleased to announce the appointment of Ramin Seifi, P.Eng., FEC, to the role of Director, Professional Practice, Standards, and Development, effective June 26.

In this role, Ramin will oversee the organization’s professional standards regulations and requirements, including firm regulation, regulatory requirements for registrants, and guideline and standards development.

Ramin is a visionary leader with over 30 years of successful collaboration in planning, engineering, and administrative roles in the public, private and not-for-profit sectors. He has spent the last 23 years at the Township of Langley in progressively senior roles, most recently as the General Manager, Engineering and Community Development, with oversight of more than 300 staff across 10 different departments. Prior to his time with the Township of Langley, Ramin was a Project Manager for McElhanney Consulting Services Ltd. in the Lower Mainland and Prince George.

Ramin is a strategic thinker and relationship-builder with experience in improving operational efficiencies and effective service delivery. During his time with the Township of Langley, he represented municipal interests across multiple levels of government and with diverse industry stakeholders and was responsible for developing various strategic policies on issues ranging from infrastructure cost recovery to sustainability.

Ramin is also a long-time volunteer with Engineers and Geoscientists BC. He has served as a registration interviewer since 2007 and has also been an executive member of the Tri-Cities branch and the municipal engineers division.

Engineers and Geoscientists BC looks forward to welcoming Ramin. Current director, Peter Mitchell, P.Eng., is moving on to a well-earned retirement at the end of June. The organization thanks Peter for his many contributions to Engineers and Geoscientists BC over the last 26 years.
