Annual General Meeting
The AGM is an opportunity for registrants to hear from the Board and senior staff about the organization’s strategic progress, key initiatives, and financial standing. It also provides a chance for registrants to bring forward motions for the consideration of the Board.
All registrants are encouraged to attend and participate in the AGM. Students and members of the public are welcome to attend as observers.

Registration for the AGM is now open. The AGM is free to attend; however, pre-registration is required.

In accordance with our Bylaws, registrants had the opportunity to submit motions in advance of the AGM for the Board's consideration. Registrant motions are non-binding and advisory to the Board.
2026 Motions
Two motions submitted by registrants will be presented for debate at this year's AGM. The motions that will be presented are as follows:
Motion 1: That the Board consider directing Engineers and Geoscientists BC (EGBC) management to reverse the administrative decision to discontinue collecting top-up donations on behalf of Engineering and Geoscience Education Foundation BC (EGEFBC) following the 2026/2027 fee renewal year and to collaborate with EGEFBC leadership to maintain the top-up point-of-sale donation mechanism at the time of EGBC annual fee collection going forward.

Additional Information
In 2025, the Engineers and Geoscientists BC Foundation officially became the Engineering and Geoscience Education Foundation BC (EGEFBC), an independent organization with a new name.
This change enables EGEFBC to enhance fundraising efforts, streamline operations, and expand outreach initiatives to better support engineering and geoscience students.
With this change, EGEFBC is building its own administrative infrastructure, with more focus on increasing the value of scholarships awarded by developing a broader fundraising strategy. As part of this separation and working agreement, beginning in 2027, Engineers and Geoscientists BC will no longer collect donations as part of registrants’ fee renewal process.

Motion 2: That the Board consider implementing measures to strengthen registrant participation in Engineers and Geoscientists BC Board elections, including measures that encourage all eligible registrants to vote or other mechanisms that achieve significantly higher voter participation and more representative election outcomes, supporting a more effective, inclusive, and modern Board election system.

Additional Information
Each year, Engineers and Geoscientists BC holds an election to select candidates to serve on its Board. As part of the election, a comprehensive communications campaign is launched to raise awareness and encourage participation in the election.
Tactics typically include articles in the organization’s digital newsletter (The Current) and magazine (Innovation), a direct email campaign to all eligible voters, social media outreach, and publication on the Engineers and Geoscientists BC website.

Voting at the AGM
Registrants in attendance (in-person or virtual) will have a chance to debate and vote on motions at the AGM. This includes all professional engineers, professional geoscientists, professional licensees, and trainees registered with Engineers and Geoscientists BC. Eligible voters can be practising, non-practising, or retired.
