June 23 is International Women in Engineering Day

Posted on June 16, 2020

Engineers and Geoscientists BC will join industry professionals from around the world in celebrating International Women in Engineering Day (INWED) on June 23, 2020. This international awareness campaign aims to raise the profile of women in engineering and bring attention to the career opportunities available to young women.

INWED celebrates the outstanding achievements of women engineers throughout the world. Beginning June 16, 2020, follow us on Twitter and LinkedIn as we profile local female engineers that are breaking down barriers, pioneering new technologies, and developing innovative solutions to everyday problems. Visit our INWED campaign page to read the inspiring profiles and learn more about how Engineers and Geoscientists BC and industry partners are marking the occasion. Join in the conversation by using the hashtags #INWED20 #ThisIsOurProfession.

On June 23, the Women in Engineering and Geoscience Division will host a virtual networking event to celebrate women working in engineering and other STEM careers. To learn more or to register, visit the event page.

Learn more about the important work we are doing to support the Engineers Canada 30 by 30 initiative to increase the participation of women in the engineering profession.
