On August 23, APEGBC introduced an updated brand identity. From now on, the association will be doing business as Engineers and Geoscientists British Columbia.
The new name comes with a new logo and visual identity, and a new strategy for expressing who the association and its members are: modern, diverse, and practicing to the highest professional and ethical standards.
The drive to develop a refreshed brand began in 2014, and was a key deliverable of Council’s 2014 – 2017 Strategic Plan. The initiative grew out of a desire for greater recognition for the professions and the association, and a need to modernize the brand to reflect the values that members said were most important to them – ethics, excellence, and progress.
Under the direction of Council, the brand was defined and brought to life, capturing the essence of the association and its members, and highlighting the association’s role as a progressive regulator that works in the public interest.
Brand development was guided by Council and by members, and was driven by data. The process included research and several stages of consultation with members, stakeholders, and the public. Members were kept informed through regular updates in Innovation and at association events such as the annual conference, and AGM.
