Discipline Notice: Barry Dean Clarke

In a March 5, 2026, Consent Order, Barry Dean Clarke admitted that he violated a 2023 Consent Order that prohibited him from engaging in the reserved practice of engineering. Mr. Clarke resigned his registration with Engineers and Geoscientists BC. 

In 2023, Mr. Clarke entered into a Consent Order regarding deficient engineering services he provided for fire and life safety systems in the Okanagan. Mr. Clarke admitted he demonstrated unprofessional conduct, and he was suspended for a period of two months. 

During the suspension period, Mr. Clarke provided engineering advice that constituted the practice of professional engineering while he was prohibited from engaging in the reserved practice of engineering, thereby violating his 2023 Consent Order. 

On March 5, in addition to agreeing to a consent order in which he agreed to resign his registration with Engineers and Geoscientists BC, Mr. Clarke is prohibited from practising engineering in BC.  

Mr. Clarke is prohibited from applying to reinstate his registration with Engineers and Geoscientists BC for a period of one year commencing on March 5. Should Mr. Clarke wish to reinstate his registration, his application will be determined by the Credentials Committee of Engineers and Geoscientists BC, and he must complete an educational seminar and a practice exam. If Mr. Clarke is successful with his reinstatement application, he will be subject to peer review for a minimum of 12 months.    

Mr. Clarke agreed to pay a $10,000 penalty and $1,750 toward the legal and investigative costs of Engineers and Geoscientists BC.
