Four Registrants Elected to Board

Two new and two returning board members were elected in this year’s Engineers and Geoscientists BC Board elections.

Matthew Salmon, P.Eng., and Veronica Knott, P.Eng., were re-elected for their second three-year terms and Matt Murdoch, P.Eng., and Urnaa Yondon, P.Geo., were newly elected for three-year terms.

For the election, which ran from August 10 to September 9, voter turnout was nine percent, with 4,356 votes cast.

At the inaugural Board meeting October 15, the Board will elect the Chair and Vice Chair from among the registrant Board members. Beginning January 1, 2027, Board Chairs will still be elected annually but will be eligible to serve for up to six consecutive annual terms.

Along with the organization's four publicly appointed Board members, the following registrant Board members will continue their terms on the Board:

• Karen Ling, P.Eng. (current Chair who will transition to the role of Immediate Past Board Chair)
• Jens Weber, P.Eng. (current Vice Chair)
• Malcolm Shield, P.Eng.
• Dr. Gordon Zhou, P.Eng.

The election was conducted by electronic ballot through a secure third-party administered system.
