Training Opportunities for Professional Practice Guidelines

Engineers and Geoscientists BC is hosting three training opportunities on guidelines, plus a professional practice webinar on changes to the BC Building Code. 

  • A webinar and Vancouver-based seminar on the guideline titled Legislated Flood Assessments in a Changing Climate in BC (version 2.1, published in August 2018) will be held on February 20, 2020. The webinar will cover the application of the guidelines, provide application examples, and host an interactive discussion. To learn more or to register, visit egbc.ca/Events/Events/2020/20FEBLFA.
  • A webinar on the guideline titled Retaining Wall Design (version 1.0, published in November 2019) will be held on March 13, 2020. The webinar will touch on the common level of expectation for various stakeholders with respect to the level of effort, due diligence, and standard of practice to be followed when designing and constructing retaining walls in BC.   • A webinar on the guideline titled Building Enclosure Engineering Services (version 2.0, published in February 2020), will be held on February 27, 2020. In addition, Engineers and Geoscientists BC will also host a webinar titled What’s New? Changes to the BC Building Code 2018, on March 2, 2020. The webinar will feature speakers Jun’ichi Jensen and Don Pedde of the Government of British Columbia’s Building and Safety Standards Branch.
