New President and Council take APEGBC into 93rd Year

VANCOUVER—The Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of BC
(APEGBC) has elected a new President and Council for the 2011/2012 term. The election

Elected candidates will be formally inducted at the Association’s 92ndAnnual General Meeting in
Kelowna, B.C. on Saturday October 15, 2011. The election process, as prescribed by the
Engineers and Geoscientists Act, and work of APEGBC’s Council allows the professions of
engineering and geoscience to enjoy the privilege of self-regulation.

Founded in 1920, APEGBC is the regulatory and licensing body for the professions of
engineering and geoscience. With over 26,000 members, APEGBC is one of the largest
professional associations in BC and maintains high academic, experience and professional
practice standards. APEGBC members deliver real world solutions to meet the technological
and social challenges of the 21st century.

Biography of Jeff Holm, P.Eng., FEC - President of APEGBC

Jeff Holm, P.Eng., FEC, is a Professional Engineer with over 20 years of experience. Jeff
actively practices engineering consulting in land development out of Kamloops, BC, providing
civil engineering services to Land Development, First Nations & Municipal clients.
Mr. Holm will be formally inducted as President of the Association of Professional Engineers
and Geoscientists of BC (APEGBC) on Saturday October 15, 2011 at the Association’s 92nd
Annual General Meeting. Mr. Holm’s previous positions with APEGBC include: Vice President
of APEGBC’s Council for the 2010/2011 term, Councillor for six years, and chair of the
Governance Committee, Registration Committee, and Limited Licence Registration Task Force.
Mr. Holm holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Civil Engineering from the University of
British Columbia, was named a Fellow of Engineers Canada and also is an Accredited Director
as awarded by Dalhousie University.
