Time Zones as of November 1, 2026

New Time Zone for British Columbia

Beginning Sunday, November 1, 2026, most of British Columbia will adopt a year-round time zone and eliminate seasonal clock changes. This new time zone is known as Pacific time (PCT) or (UTC-7). BC will not set their clocks back 1 hour on November 1.

Check your meeting times

During the transition to this new time zone, some calendar applications may display meetings after November 1 as being either one hour earlier or one hour later than intended.

Meetings, interviews, or events involving participants outside of BC may be particularly affected.

Please check the time of important meetings to ensure you attend at the correct time.

If a meeting time appears to be incorrect or doesn't seem to be set with the new (UTC-7) Pacific time (British Columbia) time zone, contact the meeting organizer to confirm the expected time.

It’s important to note that regions normally synched to BC’s Pacific Standard time will no longer be operating with the same time zone. For example, after November 1 until March 27, 2027, Washington state will be hour behind BC. So 8 AM in BC will be 7 AM in Seattle.
